Makers Comments: I shot this video my friend Peter who is a performer. It was shot in my lounge with a white screen as a background. The background was lit brightly to over expose it compared to the artist in front. I extended the sides in my editing suite to give the impression it was a massive studio set up. The audio was just the album track being mimed to. I used a few tricks to enhance the sequences. The only fault I had was the ISO was too high on one of the camera which caused noise on the image. I just added noise to the other footage to even things up. The slo-mo effects were in-camera as I used a Sony RX10.
We'll Meet Again
Makers Comments: A promotional video commissioned by the band to put on their website. Filmed at The Criterion Theatre Blue Town. We have line of sight issues because the venue was small and we could not block the view of the audience. We managed to set up either side of the stage and were able to film all members of the band. The audio track was created by using the sound all three cameras and a digital recorder, We also got a feed from the desk for the mic so we could adjust that in the mix if needed. The simple graphics were exactly what the band asked for as their music really speak for itself.
Makers Comments: This is compiled from low-light footage which will be part of my long-term project of the Strood at Mersea.
Makers Comments: Filmed at Colchester Arts Centre using three camera set up. The rear camera failed, the right hand side camera's battery ran out two songs from the end and my camera just about lasted the entire gig. I was asked the artists to film their gig. The audio was created using sound the cameras mixed with a live feed from the sound desk. I had to reduce the reverb and noise on the audio as the arts centre is very echoey.
The competition was held on 2nd April 2019.
